Trump and Flynn

February 15th 2017

Donald Trump is the master of diversion. When things go bad he always changes the topic and turns the discussion to something that takes the negative spotlight off him. We saw that during the campaign when his character flaws were exposed time and time again but somehow he managed to deflect criticism and shift the onus to his opponents to defend themselves. Now that he is in the most powerful office in the world he is using the same tactics to confuse and turn aside the enquiries that reflect badly on him and his administration. The latest debacle with Flynn is a good example as he tries to make the leak of information seem more important than the fact that his National Security Advisor acted against our national interest and undermined the Obama administration with illegal promises to Russia. The republicans in Congress have largely tried to downplay the disasters that have occurred in the first month of Trump's administration. How long will it be before they come to their senses and realize the full extent of the mistake that has brought this despot to power? I expect my representatives to act on behalf of the people and country that elected them and demand a full investigation of this egregious breach of our national security.
