The AJC statewide poll of likely voters shows that the
majority of Georgians think Hillary Clinton is well qualified to be president
and has the temperament and knowledge required for the job. Conversely the
majority think Donald Trump is not qualified, and hasn't the knowledge or
temperament to be president. Yet the polls show that Trump leads Clinton in the
race in Georgia. I can only conclude that Georgians are voting blindly for
their party nominee without truly considering the consequences.
Donald trump claims to be republican but a large number of
the respected leaders of the party have rejected him and his antics. Also
independent analysis has shown that if he was elected and then implemented his
economic plan, the country's debt would balloon by 34 trillion dollars in the
next 20 years, more than 3.5 million jobs would be lost, and there would
probably be major cuts in social security and Medicare benefits. Mr. Trump's
plan would also impact the world economy with declines of 10 to 15 percent in
the markets. The result could very well be a new recession or worse. Is that
what Georgians really want?
