Obamacare

Michael Ramirez's depiction
of Obamacare crashing in flames confirms him as a contributor to the fake news
put out by alt-right conservatives in the new Trump party. He's part of the
propaganda campaign to discredit a law that has helped millions of Americans.
Perhaps he should try to explain his position to the 20 million people who now
have insurance as a result of the ACA, or to the millions on Medicaid who
benefited from the expansion enacted by more enlightened states. Maybe he
should convince the 57 million seniors that we really don't need
the additional benefits and lower costs in Medicare that we receive as a
result of Obamacare. Or for that matter, perhaps he should explain to seniors
how extending Medicare's lifetime by 10 years as a result of actions within
Obamacare is bad for us. Does he expect us to believe that we really don't need
to worry about our future healthcare under Tom Price's half-baked plan? I
certainly don't trust the conservatives to look after us. Their ill-conceived
alternative to Obamacare means privatization of Medicare, block grants
resulting in Medicaid cuts, and hardship and extra cost for seniors and
millions of poor people. Obamacare is certainly not a panacea, it has issues
and faults, but it saddens me that so many people would rather listen to a
flood of fake news, propaganda, and hollow promises from ideologues and
fanatics than search out and understand the real data for themselves
