The
crisis in Ukraine has brought out the Abominal Noman in the republican
character once again. Mona Charen echoes the vitriolic comments of John McCain,
Sarah Palin, and others who would rather criticize Obama, and thereby give
comfort to the enemy, than condemn Putin for his despicable
actions, as he so strongly deserves.
There
was a time when all Americans would have come together to support the president
as he faces one of the most dangerous threats to world peace that has happened
since World War II. How things have changed since then. Now party politics
trumps common sense and true patriotism, as these opportunists jump on every
situation and attempt to discredit president Obama. How about acting like real
Americans and rallying round our elected leader in a time of crisis? Why not
show the enemy the real resolve of the American people in this perilous
time?
