Politifact Opinion

December 17th 2015

Poltitifact in the AJC should be called Politopine. It has moved from pure fact checking to offering opinions which in my estimation show conservative bias. I'm sure those in the conservative ranks would argue the reverse.

Politifact, instead of offering a fact checking service is actively engaged in influencing public opinion. The use of a meter and a scale assessment is much too simple for a full understanding of the issues being discussed.

As a result of TV commercials and political bombardment we all realize that our attention span has been damaged and shortened, but surely we still have some ability to read and make up up own minds. Reducing serious information to a single biased meter reading is a major disservice to the public and an insult to our ability to sort out the wheat from the chaff.
