Trump Administration

We are entering a perilous period in our American democracy as conservative ideology takes control of our future and brings us closer to religious and right wing elitist authoritarianism. The priority for this new cabal will be private business over the health and welfare of our citizens. The elite few will once again be rewarded with policies and laws that take from the 99 percent to further concentrate wealth and power within a small closed circle of the super-rich, whilst the middle and working classes suffer even more.

The appointments by Trump are a clear indication of the intentions of the new administration. The progress made to protect our seniors and poor will be swept away as Tom Price and Paul Ryan attack Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and Obamacare. Women's rights will dissipate as the new boy's club rolls back the gains made over the last 50 years. Those outside the mainstream better beware as intolerance becomes the guiding principle. Our environment will suffer as "Drill Baby Drill" becomes the battle cry and never mind the future effect on our children and grandchildren. Science and fact based decision making will take a back seat to marketing hype, pet theories, and old debunked economic models that failed us before.

The Trump voters who believed his populist lies and empty promises will be severely disappointed as conditions worsen and they realize they have been scammed. When will we ever learn?
