A recent letter to the editor dismisses climate change by
quoting a report from the dailycaller.com, a libertarian conservative
website. The comment took a part the National Snow and Ice Data Center
report out of context. If the writer had delved further into the
report he would have seen that the growth in ice was on the eastern part of the
Antarctic continent, whilst the ice sheet in the west is rapidly melting and in
danger of collapse. The same report also states that the average temperature in
that part of the Southern Hemisphere had risen between 2 and 4 degrees. Climate
Science is based on real data, not ideologically driven opinion.
